Durga Mata

Durga Mata, also known as Maa Durga, is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. She symbolizes power (Shakti), protection, motherhood, and the victory of good over evil. According to ancient scriptures, Durga was created by the combined energies of all gods to defeat the demon Mahishasura, who had become invincible.

Maa Durga is often depicted riding a lion or tiger, holding various weapons in her many hands. Each hand represents her divine powers to destroy evil and protect the righteous. She is fearless, compassionate, and fiercely protective of her devotees.

Durga Mata is especially worshipped during Navratri, a nine-night festival where each day is dedicated to one of her nine forms – known as Navadurga. Devotees observe fasting, chant mantras, perform rituals, and immerse themselves in prayers to seek her blessings.

Durga Mata teaches us that inner strength, courage, and righteousness are the greatest weapons against injustice and negativity. She inspires us to stand strong in difficult times, fight against wrong, and remain humble in power.
